【摘要】:Thesamplingproceduresdescribedinthispracticehavebeendesignedtoensurerandomsamplingoffinishedleatherandfabricatedleatheritemsforphysicalandchemicaltests.Leatherisanaturalproductandassuchissubjecttoextensivevariability.Thephysicalandchemicalpropertiesvaryconsiderablydependingonlocationonthehide,sideorskinfromwhichthetestsampleistaken.Randomsamplingofspecimensfromapredefinedlocationandorientationminimizestestbiasandvariability.Thispracticedefinestheseparameters.1.1Thispracticecoversthesamplingoffinishedleatherandfabricatedleatheritemsforphysicalandchemicaltests.Theproductisgroupedintolotsthatarerandomlysampledinsuchamannerastoproducearepresentativesampleofthelot.Thissamplemaybeusedtodeterminecomplianceofthelotwithapplicablespecificationrequirements,andonthebasisofresults,thelotmaybeacceptedorrejectedinitsentirety.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
