【摘要】:1.1Thispracticeisintendedtoassistelectroplatersinestablishingandmaintainingasatisfactorypre-electroplatingcycleformalleableiron,grayiron,nodulariron,andwhiteironcastings.Itisalsointendedtoindicatecertainfoundrypracticeswhichwillfacilitatesubsequentfinishing.Mostofthepracticesthatfollowhavebeenbasedonexperiencewithmalleableandgrayiron.However,sincetheyarerelatedtotheotherforms,thesamepracticeswillprobablyapply.Nodularironisalsoknownasspheroidalorductileiron,whichisdefinedascastironwiththegraphitesubstantiallyinsphericalshapeandsubstantiallyfreeofflakegraphite.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Specificprecautionarystatementsaregivenin2.1.
