【摘要】:TheoriginaltaskheadingsintheFibreOpticHarnessStudywere'InspectionandFaultAnalysis'and'RepairandMaintenance'.However,tocreateamorecoherentandreadablehandbookthesehavebeenre-arrangedinthispartofEN4533tomaketwonewtopicheadings-'Faultanalysisandrepair'and'Scheduledmaintenanceandinspection'.Thefirstdealswithwhattodowhensomethinggoeswrong-howtogofromafaultnotificationtolocatingthefault,andfinally,repairingit.Thesecondcoverstherecommendedproceduresforupkeepandmaintainingharnesshealthoverthelifetimeofitsinstallation.Itisbeneficialtoreadbothsectionstogetherasmanyofthepracticesandtechniquesareapplicabletobothsituations.Twosupplementalsectionsconsiderdesigningaharnesswithrepairandmaintenanceinmindandgoodpracticeswhenmaintainingorrepairingaharness.Tokeepthehandbooktoareasonablesize,otherHamessStudyreportsarecalledupwheremoredetailisrequired.Thishandbookdoesnotcontainsufficientinformation,forexample,tobethesolereferenceforharnessfaultfindingbutitshouldprovideadequatebackgroundforsomebodyworkinginthatfield.
