【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesametallographicmethodfordeterminingthenon-metallicinclusionlevelinmetalpowdersusingapowder-forgedspecimen.Thetestmethodcoversrepresspowder-forgedtestspecimensinwhichtherehasbeenminimallateralflow(<1%).Thecoreregionofthepowder-forgedtestspecimencontainsnoporositydetectableat100×magnification.Thistestmethodcanalsobeusedtodeterminethenon-metallicinclusioncontentofpowder-forgedsteelparts.However,inpartswheretherehasbeenasignificantamountofmaterialflow,thenear-neighbourseparationdistanceneedstobechanged,ortheinclusionsizesagreedbetweenthepartiesneedtobeadjusted.Thistestmethodisnotsuitablefordeterminingthenon-metallicinclusionlevelofpartsthathavebeenforgedsuchthatthecoreregioncontainsporosity.Atthemagnificationusedforthistestmethod,residualporosityishardtodistinguishfrominclusions.Toomuchresidualporositymakesameaningfulassessmentoftheinclusionpopulationimpossible.Thistestmethodmaybeappliedtomaterialsthatcontainmanganesesulfide(admixedorprealloyed),providedthenear-neighbourseparationdistanceischangedfrom30μmto15μm.
