【摘要】:Productsareexposedtocomplexdynamicstressesinthetransportationenvironment.Thedeterminationoftheresonantfrequenciesoftheproduct,eitherhorizontal,verticalorboth,aidsthepackagedesignerindeterminingtheproperpackagingsystemtoprovideadequateprotectionoftheproduct,aswellasprovidinganunderstandingofthecomplexinteractionsbetweenthecomponentsoftheproductastheyrelatetoexpectedtransportationvibrationinputs.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofresonancesofunpackagedproductsandcomponentsbymeansofhorizontallinearmotionappliedatthesurfaceonwhichtheproductismounted.ForverticalvibrationtestingofproductsseeTestMethodD3580.Twoalternatetestmethodsarepresented:1.1.1TestMethodA8212;ResonanceSearchUsingSinusoidalVibration,and1.1.2TestMethodB8212;ResonanceSearchUsingRandomVibration.Note18212;Thesetwotestmethodsarenotnecessarilyequivalentandmaynotproducethesameresults.1.2Thisinformationmaybeusedtoexaminetheresponseofproductstovibrationforproductdesignpurposes,orforthedesignofacontainerorinteriorpackagethatwillminimizetransportationvibrationinputsatthecriticalfrequencies,whentheseproductresonancesarewithintheexpectedtransportationenvironmentfrequencyrange.Sincevibrationdamageismostlikelytooccuratproductresonantfrequencies,thesemaybethoughtofaspotentialproductfragilitypoints.1.3Informationobtainedfromtheoptionalsinusoidaldwellandrandomtestmethodsmaybeusedtoassessthefatiguecharacteristicsoftheresonatingcomponentsandforproductmodification.Thismaybecomenecessaryifaproduct'sresponsewouldrequiredesignofanimpracticalorexcessivelycostlyshippingcontainer.1.4Thistestmethoddoesnotnecessarilysimulatevibrationeffectstheproductwillencounterinoperatingorend-useenvironments.Other,moresuitabletestproceduresshouldbeusedforthispurpose.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection6.
